THANK YOU DONORS!
YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS!
Your Generous Support Makes an Impact!
Here at Newton County Community Services, Inc., we are seeing the impact that our resources have for many in need. We offer several programs including Public Transportation, Energy Assistance, Food Pantry, four Senior Nutrition Programs and a Community Garden. Newton County Community Services, Inc. seeks to improve health, education, and welfare of individuals and families. Our services greatly benefit senior citizens, people with disabilities, and low-income people in this underserved, rural population of Newton County. We also have started a Community Garden out front of our new building in Morocco. All food grown will support our food pantry filling the gap for fresh items so rarely available to us.
Cash donations allow us to fill the gap for essential items. We would greatly appreciate any gifts or donations you could provide. Your compassionate partnership would assist in feeding those in need for all of Newton County. Our area has a 22.9% higher rate of food insecurity than the national average and we serve with dignity, providing food and life skills to give support needed to improve life situations. We also graciously accept physical pantry donations or garden surplus. Our drop off location is 102 E State St (across from DeMotte State Bank) between the hours of 8am-4pm Monday through Friday.
Your gift could
also provide transportation to local people needing dialysis, cancer treatments,
or a ride to work. We are currently assisting with 450 rides per month and want to increase to meet the need. We are
seeking funding to improve our technology so we can support faster call times
and increase our rider availability.
We also seek
support for updating our Senior Nutrition Sites and their programming. These
programs prevent loneliness and isolation while giving valuable nutrition to Seniors to
help maintain independent living and
fight chronic illness. A safe place
for local Seniors to play games to improve
mental health and provide socialization.
Our next big project is to start an ART WALL where people or groups can display art on a monthly rotation. It will give our seniors a chance to have an artist spotlight every month and promotes the arts within the community as a mental health outlet. We are currently seeking funding for a wall hanging system approximately $3,000.
Come this fall we will be renting out two of our offices for a nurse practitioner through Healthlinc. She is looking to support a startup business that supports rural healthcare. The company also offers Medicaid and a sliding fee schedule for uninsured families. Access to care is limited in this area and we are so happy to be supporting local business and economic development in Newton County!
You may denote what your support goes towards and no matter the choice you will know that your donations will be put to good use. All gifts are tax deductible. The needs are always great and your generous support will serve this rural, underserved area. Thank you so much for your consideration and I look forward to partnering for this exciting opportunity to support rural community!
